Heather Goode and her family love to dress up their Warren Michigan home for the holidays with elaborate holiday decorations.
A neighborhood staple for Halloween and Christmas for years, the Wagner Street home was suddenly cited by the city’s building department for “items overhanging (the) sidewalk” creating a safety hazard.
The letter from the City of Warren stated that she had to take down the decorations or face hefty fines.
After seeing the post that Heather Goode wrote about the situation, Warren Mayor Jim Fouts stepped in and overturned the violation, saving the Chrismas Tree Display and what could have amounted to a $1,000 daily fine as long as the arches remained on the property.
