City of Warren Again Receives Top Award For Financial Reporting

Warren, MI – The City of Warren has received the top award again for financial reporting.  This is the eleventh consecutive year the city has received the award from the Government Finance Officers Association.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

Warren Mayor Jim Fouts says credit for the award goes to the City of Warren Controller Rob Maleszyk, Assistant Controller Tony Fontana and Budget Director Renee Rezak.  “This team has done an outstanding job of finance reporting, budget preparation and implementation and city financial planning.

“Our city has the strongest fund balance in Michigan, and much of the credit goes to our financial team,” added the Mayor.
