The City of Warren this week has received multiple honors for the great administration and delivering of services to residents of the community.

First, the Warren Police Department was awarded the Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission’s “best practice” standards to achieve accreditation becoming the largest city in Macomb County to achieve this certification and the first time the department has been fully accredited.  

Next the Warren Planning Department won the 2021 Burnham Award for the comprehensive Master Plan which focused on the Warren Towne Center project outlining a half century dream of creating a walkable downtown in the city.  

Also, the Warren Assessing Department achieved a perfect score from the Tax Management Association for a recently conducted Audit of Minimum Assessing Requirement (AMAR) on behalf of the State Tax Commission.

Finally, the city of Warren in partnering with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to homebound Warren residents so that they can safely receive visits from family and friends. 

The driving focus of my administration is to protect and serve our community. That means providing residents with the best possible policing, quality planning, effective delivery of services and doing all in our power to protect the health of our residents so they can have the best possible quality of life. This week our efforts were recognized across the board! I want to congratulate everyone in our administration from our Police Department led by Commissioner Bill Dwyer, the Planning Department led by Ron Wuerth and the Downtown Development Authority led by Tom Bommarito for their great work on the Warren Towne Center Project, Assessor Jennifer Czeiszperger, and everyone who works so hard to make Warren such a wonderful community.  

We will never stop working to improve our great city.
