In recognition of National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month (NADAM) and National Caregivers Month, the City of Warren lit its City Hall in teal at dusk on Thursday, November 4 through dawn on Friday, November 5.

This is part of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s (AFA) annual Light the World in Teal initiative for Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. The City of Warren is proud to raise awareness of this disease that affects more than 5.8 million Americans and over 50 million people worldwide. People in and around Warren are encouraged to snap photos and post them to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #AFALightTheWorldInTeal.

We understand that, unfortunately, dementia is a growing epidemic in our city, state and nation. By lighting up our City Hall in teal, we wanted to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s and dementia as well as let area residents know that we are thinking about them, supporting them and stand by them in their fight against this terrible disease.
