Warren Mayor James Fouts, City Attorney and Warren Police To Address Lincoln Middle School Students on Active Shooter Topic on March 29 at 10 a.m.

Warren Mayor James Fouts, City Attorney Ethan Vinson and Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer will address Lincoln Middle School students on active school shooters Thursday, March 29 at 10 a.m. in the school auditorium.

“This is part of the police-school partnership to prevent school shootings,” said Mayor Fouts. It is the next step we are taking after our initial meeting with school leaders.”

Mayor Fouts and Warren police met with 51 school leaders in early March to discuss school shooter strategies.   The Safe School Task Force, which was the subject of the meeting with 51 school leaders, has a mission “to develop a committee of law enforcement, city and school district personnel to identify and review strategies and programs aimed at continuing the overall safety of all students, staff and schools in the City of Warren.”

Warren Mayor James Fouts initiated the idea of a school-police task force with Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer following the crisis such as the one on February 14 in Florida.
