Warren City Hall will be lit in blue lights tonight, Monday, Sept. 19 from dusk until dawn Tuesday, Sept. 20 to bring public attention to Pitt Hopkins syndrome.

Pitt Hopkins syndrome is a condition characterized by intellectual disability and developmental delay, breathing problems, recurrent seizures (epilepsy), and distinctive facial features.

Approximately 1000 Pitt Hopkins syndrome patients have been identified worldwide, but there are many who remain undiagnosed. Warren resident Nicole Turkiela reached out to Mayor Fouts about this condition a few years ago, her daughter Isabella is diagnosed with Pitt Hopkins Syndrome. Mayor Fouts issued a proclamation and has directed that city hall be lit up to bring awareness.
